Statement of Community Involvement

One of the main principles behind the planning system is community involvement.  We encourage the public, local organisations, businesses, and others with an interest in the area to take part and have a say in different aspects of planning.

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets out who we will consult on various aspects of planning, and what methods we will use. 

West Lancashire SCI 2020

We adopted the West Lancs SCI 2020 on 29 September 2020.  It is accompanied by an 'Addendum' which will apply temporarily whilst restrictions on public interaction are in place as a result of Covid-19.

We received 18 representations when consulting on the draft 2020 SCI.  The Consultation Report lists the comments made, the Council's responses, and the resulting changes to the SCI.
