Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

A Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) assesses the risk to an area from flooding from all sources (e.g. river and coastal, surface), now and in the future.  It takes account of the impacts of climate change and assesses the impact that land use changes and development will have on flood risk.

The 'Level 1' SFRA looks at flood risk in more general terms. The 2017 Level 1 SFRA is now complete, having been extensively updated in 2019 following consultation.

The 'Level 2' SFRA considers site-specific locations.  Consultants JBA have carried out the SFRA Level 2 on our behalf.  We received the final study on 26 May 2020.

The maps below show flood risk areas in relation to sites that were proposed for development in the 2018 draft Local Plan Review.  It is important to note that this plan has now been ceased.
