The 2012 Sustainable Settlement Study looked at the Borough's settlements to identify the most sustainable areas to accommodate future development.  This in turn informed the 2012 Local Plan.  Although the final hierarchy indicates the most sustainable locations for development, there are other factors to be considered, including environmental constraints, local needs and the availability of sites.
