Renewable Energy Capacity Study (2009/10)
This study, covering the Liverpool City Region, consists of two reports and an appendix:
- Stage 1 Report (2009) (PDF 7mb) - This demonstrates that the City Region’s renewable energy targets can be met.
- Stage 2 Report (2010) (PDF 5mb) - This provides a development plan policy framework. It also identifies priority zones for combined heat and power, and areas of potentially least constraint for wind energy development.
- Appendix G (PDF 14mb)
Lancashire Sustainable Energy Study (2010/11)
In 2010, the North West Regional Development Agency developed the North West Renewable and Low Carbon Energy Capacity and Deployment Study. Lancashire County Council then commissioned consultants to bring forward the information contained in this report to a local authority level.
The study comprises several documents, including a technical report (April 2011) and a final report (July 2011). It provides a greater understanding of the potential for renewable energy development in West Lancashire.
