Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

A Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) assesses the risk to an area from flooding from all sources (river and coastal, surface), now and in the future.  It takes account of the impacts of climate change and assesses the impact that land use changes and development in the area will have on flood risk.

A 'Level 1' SFRA looks at flood risk in more general terms. The 2017 Level 1 SFRA is now complete, having been extensively updated in 2019 following consultation. 

 

A 'Level 2 ' SFRA considers site-specific locations. The Level 2 documents (2018) are available below.
