Outside the scope of an amendment
The following are some examples of development that would be classed as beyond the scope of an ‘amendment’ and would therefore require a fresh application:
- Resiting of buildings
- Significant increase in the volume of a building
- Significant increase in the height of a building
- Changes to the site area
- Changes which conflict with a condition
- Significant additional or repositioned windows/doors/openings
- Changes which alter the nature or description of the approved development
- New works or elements not part of the original scheme
- New works or elements not considered by any Environmental Statement submitted with the application
Amendments that constitute a revision to a planning permission, which would take it outside the scope of the original permission or amendments that warrant re-consultation or re-notification to neighbouring owners/occupiers, will not normally be considered without a fresh application.
