Popular Community Impact Days return for 2024
- Six events scheduled across the Borough over coming months
- Meet and talk to a range of council and external services
- Three locations to host additional Family Fun activities
West Lancashire Borough Council's Community Impact Days are set to make a welcome return, with many new additions.
The events will take place at six locations across the Borough over the coming months, bringing together a range of council and service providers to the heart of our communities.
Residents and tenants can meet and chat to officers and representatives from services including housing, rent support, repairs, debt advice, employment, family, health & wellbeing, energy efficiency, tenant involvement and the environment.
Also, we will carry out a survey with tenants, which is a golden opportunity for them to have their say and for us to gain insight into what we are doing well but also identify areas where we could improve.
Three venues will be hosting bonus family fun activities, including arts and crafts. A highlight of the events will once again be the inclusion of free giant skips ready to be filled with domestic waste.
WLBC is committed to creating a clean environment for all our residents and we are delighted to provide an opportunity for the community to dispose of items they no longer want or need in a safe way.
Councillor Vickie Cummins, lead member for Communities, added: “These Impact Days are a great way for the Council to build relationships within communities and meet residents and tenants face to face, to discuss any queries or concerns they may have.
“It is imperative that our communities’ voices are heard so we can continue to deliver quality services that our residents want and need.
“We want to work together to foster inclusive and healthy communities, so this is an ideal opportunity for people of all ages to access health and wellbeing advice.
“I’d encourage families to take part in the free family fun activities at our community centres.”
Councillor Nicola Pryce-Roberts, lead member for Housing at West Lancashire Borough Council added: “The community impact days are an opportunity for our tenants and residents to seek advice and support from our officers and representatives from external services.
“Residents can also safely dispose of any bulkier household waste they have been meaning to throw away. Community impact days build on the ‘skip days’ the council has organised in the past but have been expanded to serve even more people around the Borough. They are part of our work to deliver inclusive and healthy communities and a clean and environmentally sustainable borough."
