Have some scarily-good fun at our leisure venues this half term!
The Council were delighted to recently welcome its leisure staff and venues back 'in house' and we'll be marking this important milestone with a half term week jam-packed with fun activities and special offers across our leisure venues!
There will be lots of £1 activities for young people to enjoy including gym sessions, football, squash and even a Fang-tastic Halloween Pool Party! There'll also be lots of exercise classes to try, whatever your age, as well as special gym membership offers.
And if you like being outdoors, you can also embark on a spine-tingling adventure as our Countryside Ranger Service invite you to two free self-guided Halloween Bat and Spider Trails that will delight nature enthusiasts and Halloween aficionados alike in both Coronation Park and Beacon Country Park.
Councillor Carl Coughlan, portfolio holder for Leisure, said:" I'm incredibly proud that the Council is able to offer such an amazing programme of events and activities for everyone over the half-term.
"I'm particularly pleased with our offer for young people. These low-cost activities will not only allow them to engage in sessions that are good for their physical and mental wellbeing, they will bring really positive interactions with staff and their community which helps them become responsible citizens.
"They're also a huge help to parents and carers who may struggle to keep their children occupied in the holidays in an affordable way.
"We're on track to create an outstanding leisure offer for the Borough and I urge everyone to come along across the next week to sample some of the great things our Leisure venues have to offer."
Bringing the operation of our Leisure venues in-house is an integral part of our exciting plans to deliver quality leisure experiences to our residents and communities, including the development of two brand-new Leisure and Wellbeing hubs in Skelmersdale and Ormskirk, the redevelopment of Burscough Sports' facilities and a new vision for Beacon Country Park.
You can find out more about all of the classes, offers and activities on our new Leisure website www.westlancsleisure.co.uk/ or on any of the venue's social media channels.
Please note:
All activities/classes individually priced – see digital channels for details.
£1 sessions places will be limited to a first-come-first-served basis.
Both Bat and Spider Trail events are self-guided and FREE, so you can choose to follow trails at any time by downloading a map from the Parks and Countryside section of westlancs.gov.uk or via the Ranger’s Twitter and Facebook or collecting a trail map from Coppice Café or Park Pool reception.
