Find out what life was like in West Lancashire 900 years ago by coming along to the marvellous Ormskirk Medieval Festival at Coronation Park.
We have organised the fantastic free event on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May with 12th Century re-enactment group Historia Normannis. Together we will take you on a journey through time to experience the sights, smells, sounds and tastes of Norman England.
Simon Kirby, Head of Leisure and Environment, said: “Make sure you don't miss this fantastic day out for all the family. With so many displays and attractions the Ormskirk Medieval Festival really has something for everyone, so come along and enjoy the fun."
Over the weekend the park in Ormskirk will come alive with fabulous medieval-themed activities, entertainment and displays for people of all ages to enjoy between 11am and 5pm on both days.
Members of Historia Normannis will do battle in exciting combat displays and tournaments.
Visitors can try on the armour, take a closer look at the weapons and how they’re made or even try their hand at archery.
Everyday life in the 12th Century will be featured with medieval cooking demonstrations and a fashion show to display the different styles of dress of the times. There will also be displays of crafts, and other medieval-themed activities and stalls.
Hungry visitors will be able to enjoy a range of refreshments. There will also be donkey rides, face painting, children’s rides, and a giant bouncy castle.
