Council publishes new Vision and Priorities for 2023-2028
West Lancashire Borough Council has published an ambitious strategy detailing its areas of focus for the next five years.
The new Council Vision and Priorities were approved during the Full Council meeting on Wednesday 18th October 2023 following a robust consultation and engagement process, which included seeking views from our residents and businesses, alongside input from a wide range of elected ward members across the Council.
The Council Vision and Priorities 2023-2028 sets out the strategic ambitions and priorities of the Council for the forthcoming years. It allows us, working alongside our partners and stakeholders, to align activity and resources that aims to deliver our vision for West Lancashire as the place of choice to live, work, visit and invest.
The new priorities have been shaped through feedback and engagement with local communities and partners, alongside councillors, staff and key stakeholders. This feedback has and will continue to be used to shape the areas of focus and outcomes the Council aspires to deliver over the next five years.
- Create a clean and environmentally sustainable borough
- Generate prosperity in our borough
- Foster inclusive and healthy communities
- Manage a resilient, financially strong Council
Councillor Rob Molloy, Portfolio Holder for Finance, including Economic Regeneration, said: "As a local authority, we are facing unprecedented financial challenges and are seeking to be as efficient and effective as we can. This means we need to allocate our resources carefully to ensure we provide best value to everyone across the Borough who relies on our services.
"But we're also ambitious for the future and our new Council Priorities outlines where we want to improve over the next five years. Residents and partners have confirmed they share the same goals - together we can achieve a positive and prosperous future for everyone."
