Community Engagement Roadshows are back for 2025
West Lancashire Borough Council's Community Engagement Roadshows are set to return.
The six events will take place at six locations in Skelmersdale and Ormskirk, while three litter-picking events are new additions for 2025.
Stationed at the roadshow trailer, residents and tenants can meet and chat to officers from a range of council services including housing, neighbourhoods, money advice, tenant involvement, clean and green and wellbeing.
A highlight of the events will once again be the inclusion of free giant skips ready to be filled with bulky and domestic waste. Additionally, the Council will be carrying out a series of litter picking and community walkabout sessions.
The Council is committed to creating a clean environment in our neighborhoods and communities and these skips offer an ideal opportunity for people to safely dispose of items they no longer want or need.
A small selection of external partners will join Council officers at the initiatives to offer advice and support in areas such as community sports activities, environmental sustainability and emergency services.
Councillor Vickie Cummins, lead member for Health and Wellbeing, said: “These annual roadshows bring council services to the community.
"They are a great chance for people to engage with our officers and discuss how their wellbeing could be further enhanced and also find out about Council services available to support with their health."
Councillor Nicola Pryce-Roberts, lead member for Housing at West Lancashire Borough Council added: “We all have those items we’ve been ‘meaning to get rid of’ and these skips are there to help people do just that, safely and conveniently.
“Our litter picking and neighbourhood walkabout sessions will also increase our presence within communities and also contribute to keeping them cleaner and safer.”
Please note, the skips are strictly for West Lancashire tenants and residents only and will be onsite until 2pm or until they are full.
