What Classes as Charitable
Charitable collections incorporate any activity that is intended to raise funds for charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purposes, and includes the collection of money and the sale of goods for a charitable purpose in a public place.
Charities and lotteries are licensed to make sure their activities are legitimate and that all funds are accounted for. Such activities include the control of street collections and house-to-house collections.
