Council Tax Balance Enquiry
Enter the nine digits of your council tax reference number to find out your balance, band and annual charge. (If your reference number contains any letters, these must be entered as capitals.) No personal information, such as your name and address, is given.
Council Tax Valuation Bands
The Council as the Local Authority are responsible for ensuring that the Banding List is maintained, and bills are calculated in accordance with the Band as set by the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). The VOA is an executive agency of HM Revenues & Customs. As the Local Authority we can only alter any Council Tax banding reduction/amendments to the date from which any change to the list is to have effect following the VOA decision.
Challenge your Council Tax band
If you feel that your property is incorrectly banded you can appeal this for free, for more information visit https://www.gov.uk/challenge-council-tax-band
Making an appeal does not allow you to withhold payment of council tax. If your appeal is successful the council will be notified and your council tax will be adjusted accordingly.
Council Tax Completion Notice
A Completion Notice is a document that specifies the 'completion date' for newly built properties or those nearing structural completion. It is the date on which the property becomes a dwelling for Council Tax purposes and is the date it is entered into the Valuation list.
