Voter ID Consultation

A motion regarding voter ID was passed at a meeting of Full Council on February 22 2023. As part of that motion, it was agreed the Council would open a consultation with the public.

So in accordance with the Sustainable Communities Regulations, the Council is consulting on whether we should apply to the Secretary of State via the Sustainable Communities Act 2007 for the power to make exempt from the provisions of the Elections Act 2022 and associated secondary legislation, all persons wishing to vote within West Lancashire who would otherwise be unable to do so if those provisions were applied and that this will be applied in accordance with the Motion.
